Open Rank Faculty Positions (Assistant, Associate, Full Professor) in Antimicrobial Resistance

Job Details

Our new department focused on microbial sciences at Cleveland Clinic is seeking faculty candidates at all levels to build upon recent growth in microbiology. We invite applications from investigators whose research focuses on antimicrobial resistance in areas that include, but are not limited to, preventing antimicrobial resistant infections, developing novel antibiotics/biologics to overcome resistance, and/or enhancing immune response to antimicrobial resistant pathogens.

Meritorious candidates will join a cohesive team of 20 investigators whose research focuses on microbiome, nutrition, bacterial pathogenesis, antimicrobial resistance, chronic viral infections, and emerging viruses. The new department will relocate to a brand new, state-of-art research building and biocontainment facility opening in spring 2026. Successful candidates will hold a primary appointment in the new microbial sciences department and benefit from extensive collaborative opportunities across Cleveland Clinic’s clinical institutes, including the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory, which provides cutting-edge infectious disease diagnostics, including for antimicrobial resistant pathogens. Meritorious candidates will also hold academic appointments within the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
