Open Rank
The Department of Radiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Radiologist to join our growing Division of Molecular Imaging and Therapeutics. This position will be a fixed-term, open rank faculty position in which we seek to hire at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor commensurate with experience.
The successful physician applicant is preferred to be certified by the American Board of Radiology or the American Board of Nuclear Medicine (or possess equivalent international board certification and eligibility for appropriate U.S. credentialing), be residency/fellowship trained in Nuclear Medicine (or have equivalent clinical experience), demonstrate excellent clinical, teaching, and interpersonal skills, and have a strong interest or background in academic radiology. With UNC Radiology expanding its theranostic program, a strong interest in operational development is also encouraged. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The faculty member will be expected to provide consultative clinical services, participate in multidisciplinary conferences, contribute to scholarly activity, and engage in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows. Clinical care infrastructure includes PET/CT (with cardiac PET/CT capability), SPECT/CT, PET/MR, and dedicated radionuclide therapy rooms. Research infrastructure includes a GMP-compliant cyclotron and state-of-the-art radiochemistry facilities within the Biomedical Research Imaging Center.
