Essential Job Duties:
The School of Social Work invites applications for an open-rank professional-track position. Hires for this position may be part-time or full-time. Professional-track faculty members are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching and advising. Faculty members at .75 FTE or above may be expected to participate actively in community extension, engagement, and service to the school, college, university, and profession.
We seek candidates with teaching experience in social work theory, practice, research, and policy. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the School's Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program and/or Master of Social Work (MSW) program. The typical teaching load is 4 courses per semester for a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty member.
Other Work/Responsibilities:
Other duties as assigned by the Head of the School of Social Work.
Minimum Experience/Education:
- A Master's degree in social work and at least 2 years of post-master's-degree social work practice experience is required for the rank of Lecturer.
- A Master's degree in social work, at least 2 years of post-master's-degree social work practice experience, and 5 years of college - level teaching experience are required for the rank of Senior Lecturer.
- A PhD, MSW, or equivalent terminal degree appropriate to the field, and at least 2 years of post-master's-degree social work practice experience, is required for the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor.
- Alternative credentials may be considered.

- Experience in developing programs, curricula, and course content, including for online courses
- Demonstrated teaching experience across the curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Experience with collaboration and intercultural communication
- Demonstrated potential for leading groups focused on social work education
- Experience teaching across various formats (in person, hybrid, online)
