Open Rank Professor (Continuing Track) Biomedical Engineering
Quantitative Systems Pharmacology
The Biomedical Engineering Department (BME, www.bme.udel.edu) at the University of Delaware (UD) invites applications for a faculty position in the Continuing Track. This is an open-rank search targeted towards candidates with demonstrated leadership/administrative experience. Candidates from both academia and industry are encouraged to apply. This position will have primary workloads in teaching (e.g., 50%) and service (e.g., 40%), with additional workload in research (e.g., 10%). Ratios in each workload category are negotiable with the candidate and subject to change based on departmental needs. A major component of this position will be to serve as Director of the new M.S. program in Quantitative Systems Pharmacology (QSP), which launched in 2025.
The continuing track (CT) is UD’s full-time, continuing faculty line. CT faculty enjoy contracts that increase in length over time and, like tenure-track faculty, receive full and generous benefits, including family-friendly benefits, as part of their compensation package. CT faculty hold professorial rank and have a path to promotion up to full professor.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, pharmacology, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field relevant to QSP. For full consideration, applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement on how they would contribute to program growth through teaching, mentoring, and leadership (max 4 pages), and contact information for at least 3 references. For priority consideration, applications must be received by March 1st, 2026, although the search will remain open until the position is filled.
For information, please contact the Search Committee Chair Emily Day (emilyday@udel.edu).
