In addition to our undergraduate program, we offer a master’s in psychology, an EdS in school psychology, and a doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD). Although new hires may have primary emphasis in the graduate or undergraduate programs, there are opportunities for engagement at all levels.
The Psychology and Counseling Department in the College of Health Sciences at Marywood University is seeking a full-time faculty member (open rank). We are accepting applications for either a 9-month, tenure-track position or a non-tenure-track Professor of Practice position (which does not have scholarship expectations other than dissertation supervision). Anticipated start date for this position is on or before August 1, 2026. Applications will be reviewed until the positions are filled.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the core clinical faculty for the Psy.D. program, at least 50% of the teaching load will be at the graduate level. Responsibilities may include direct supervision of graduate students providing services in our on-campus Psychological Services Center, involving both group and individual supervision of child, adult, couples, and family cases. Mentorship of student research is required, including undergraduate honors research, master’s theses, and dissertations. Service to the department, University, and community is expected. Assistance with Psy.D. program administration also may be needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this position, applicants must: hold a Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-accredited program in Clinical (preferred) or Counseling Psychology; be a licensed psychologist (preferred) or license-eligible in Pennsylvania (if needed, postdoctoral supervision may be provided for 1 year, with licensure required upon eligibility); have a CBT or third-wave CBT orientation; be able to competently supervise empirical dissertations; demonstrate commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the training and practice of health service psychology. Individuals with expertise in one of the following are most desirable: statistics, clinical neuropsychology, or clinical supervision with training and experience to competently provide clinical supervision for child and adult cases.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Following are preferred qualifications: prior teaching experience, particularly at the graduate level; professional presentations, publications; and, expertise in clinical, diversity issues, and/or assessment.
