About the Opportunity
The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in Human Resources Management. We seek a dedicated and dynamic individual to contribute to our innovative and forward-thinking programs in the field of Human Resources Management. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background, demonstrated research expertise, and significant industry experience as a practitioner in Human Resources Management.
The position is a full-time, open rank, non-tenure track, renewable appointment located in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
This full-time faculty member is expected to bring her/his intellectual and creative capacity to bear in advancement of the program, seeking to serve students by participating in a range of teaching and non-teaching activities that support the advancement of the program. They will teach a full teaching load spread throughout the year and will work with the program office on administrative issues and programmatic projects.
Teaching & Curricular Oversight (approximately 80% of time)
- Teach a variety of graduate courses in Human Resources Management, including but not limited to topics such as talent acquisition, organizational development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and strategic HR management.
- Engage in curriculum development, program assessment, and the integration of emerging HR trends and practices into academic offerings.
- Oversee the instruction of specific courses within the curriculum.
- Mentor and advise students, guiding them in their academic and professional development.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with industry partners, staying current on the latest HR trends and best practices.
Service & Professional Development (approximately 20% of time)
- Create professional development opportunities for full and part-time faculty in the unit.
- Serve on committees that support the mission of the program and the vision of the College and wider University.
- Promote the discovery and dissemination of knowledge through scholarship, research, creative activity, and professional development.
Qualifications
- Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Management, Psychology, or a closely related discipline within Human Resources Management by appointment start date.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly achievement and professional engagement, including publications in reputable, peer-reviewed academic journals.
- Significant professional experience in Human Resources Management or a related field, ideally at the senior or executive level.
- Dedication to promoting an inclusive, equitable, and diverse academic environment.
- Experience teaching in online or hybrid learning formats.
- Proven involvement in industry partnerships, consulting projects, or collaborative initiatives.
