Open Rank Tenure-Track Faculty in Iowa Testing Programs
Position
Iowa Testing Programs and the Department of Psychological and Quantitative Foundations at The University of Iowa invite applications for a fiscal-year tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor in Educational Measurement and Statistics.
Description
We seek an individual with outstanding applied or theoretical research in the field of testing and measurement who has broad interests and evidence of professional accomplishment in measurement research, test development, and implementation contributing to the improved use of testing and assessment in education.
Education Requirement
Prospective candidates must have an earned doctorate with specialization in educational measurement.
Required Qualifications
- experience in K-12 large-scale assessment;
- evidence of contributions to the design, development, and implementation of tests in education;
- evidence of and continued potential for scholarly productivity
Desirable Qualifications
- evidence of teaching skills;
- potential for maintaining and securing external funds for research, training, and program development;
- experience in teaching and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, including practitioners and researchers representing varied theoretical, methodological, and substantive perspectives.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be a part of the rich history of the Iowa Testing Programs in the College of Education at the University of Iowa. The successful candidate will contribute to managing and maintaining existing external funding, to developing relationships and participating in the activities of professional organizations, to engaging in state and national activities that support the practice of educational measurement, and to fulfilling designated responsibilities in Iowa Testing Programs. In addition, candidates will be expected to maintain an ongoing program of research in educational measurement, design and teach courses in educational measurement, and advise MA and PhD students. The successful candidate also will be expected to contribute directly to the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress, the Iowa Assessments, and related programs and materials designed and developed by Iowa Testing Programs.

Appointment
Fiscal year (12 month) tenure-track appointment beginning in Winter 2027 or at a mutually agreed upon time.
