The Gies College of Business at Illinois is a world leader in research, teaching, and public engagement. We are interested in candidates who will bring excellence to campus via outstanding research, teaching, and service.
Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a 100% full-time assistant, associate, or full professor within the Department of Business Administration. The position is in the Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and International Business (SEIB) area within the Department of Business Administration. The SEIB faculty include Fellows of the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society, leaders of the TIM and STR divisions of the Academy of Management, and editors of major journals like Organization Science and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal. We have a vibrant research culture that includes the Illinois Strategic Organizations Initiative (ISOI), the Initiative for Qualitative Research in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (INQUIRE), and an excellent doctoral program.
We seek candidates with a demonstrated commitment to research excellence in the domain of strategy, innovation, or entrepreneurship. An ability and openness to teach courses at graduate and undergraduate levels with different delivery formats is desirable. Experience with online teaching is valued but not required. Applicants must have (or be finishing) a Ph. D. in business or a related disciplinary field.

The Department of Business Administration is a diverse and growing unit, which includes graduate and undergraduate programs across seven academic areas (i.e., Organizational Behavior, Strategic Management, International Business, Marketing, Operations Management, Information Systems, and Supply Chain). About 14 specialized faculty members have been added over the past 3 years. Currently, specialized faculty constitute approximately 37.6% of the academic staff within the department. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain an active and productive program of research
- Teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
- Perform service for the department.
- Provide leadership in the department and the university.
- Candidates for assistant professor should expect to have completed their doctoral degree by June 1, 2027.
