The College of Nursing at Tarleton State University seeks to establish a pool of qualified applicants for Open Rank Faculty appointments in the department of Undergraduate Nursing. This pool is for Spring/Fall 2026.
Assistant, Associate, Professor - Tenure Track Nursing, Undergraduate
Primarily responsible for the teaching/learning process and will also participate in the necessary operations of the institution. Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work and teaching requirements indicate with possible weekend hours. Requires the ability to travel and will be supporting and serving all Tarleton locations. May be assigned to teach at various campus locations or through approved instructional modalities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
80% Teaching and Service: Develop, implement, and review effective teaching/learning processes... Maintain appropriate schedule of office hours... Participate in institutional service roles...
20% Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity: Demonstrate a record of ongoing research, scholarship or creative activity appropriate to your academic discipline.
Minimum Requirements
Assistant Professor: Earned doctorate/terminal degree (PhD and DNP) from an accredited institution. Three to Five years of successful college teaching experience. BLS certification. License to Practice Nursing in the State of Texas.
Associate Professor: Earned doctorate/terminal degree (PhD and DNP) from an accredited institution. Five to Eight years of successful college teaching experience. BLS certification. License to Practice Nursing in the State of Texas.
Professor: Earned doctorate/terminal degree (PhD and DNP) from an accredited institution. Eight plus years of successful college teaching experience. BLS certification. License to Practice Nursing in the State of Texas.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated ability in the discipline and show clear promise of teaching excellence... Documented yearly progress of professional achievement in teaching, scholarship, and service.
