Open Rank – Visiting Professor of Law / Visiting Associate Professor of Law

The incumbent will teach a full academic load and engage in regular publication of significant scholarly work at Columbia Law School for a period of not more than one year. Period of appointment: Fall term, Spring term, or entire academic year 2026–27.

Qualifications:
 J.D. (or J.D. equivalent); or
 Ph.D.

Candidates must be widely recognized as leaders in their particular field(s) of scholarship and teaching.

Salary Range:
Visiting Associate Professor: $195,000 to $240,000
Visiting Professor: $240,000 to $340,000

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
