Job Description
The National University of Singapore invites applications for Operations Manager in the Clinical Imaging Research Centre (CIRC), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. It is equipped with on-site capability for the preparation of PET radiopharmaceuticals in a state-of-the-art GMP-certified facility. CIRC is positioned to support both academic and industry led clinical research programs, with dedicated clinical imaging facilities area advanced modalities of PET-CT and PET-MRI. The mission of CIRC is to provide a shared state-of-the-art national resource for translational molecular imaging research, to foster collaborations between scientists and clinicians and to support the development of human capital. The applicant plays a key role in our pursuit to being a leading centre for advanced clinical imaging research and to drive the development and translation of imaging biomarkers to clinical practice. She/he serves to lead and manage the operational functions of the radiopharmaceutical research centre, ensuring efficient day-to-day activities, regulatory compliance, and resource optimization, while driving strategic projects and identifying revenue generating opportunities to support innovation, growth, and translational impact of the centre’s research outputs.
- To ensure the smooth, efficient, and compliant running of day-to-day operations across the Clinical Imaging Research Centre.
- Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the GMP Cyclotron facility
- Provides leadership, governs strategic projects and establishes departmental goals and objectives
- Manage the CIRC laboratory operations and services to the agreed specification and to the agreed performance, qualitative and financial targets
- To enable and support high-quality radiopharmaceutical research through effective operational oversight and scientific coordination.
- Work with CIRC cross-departmental teams and PIs to identify translational opportunities
- Engage with external stakeholders (industry, clinical, regulatory) to build partnerships
- Assist with experimental planning, workflow optimisation, and technical troubleshooting
- To plan, execute, and oversee strategic and technical projects, ensuring timely delivery aligned with research and business goals.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Lead cross-functional project teams including researchers, technicians, and external collaborators
- Monitor progress, mitigate risks, and ensure alignment with key milestones and deliverables
- Report project status to senior leadership and stakeholders
- To lead, support, and develop a high-performing operations team aligned with the centre’s mission and values.
- Line manage operations staff including recruitment, performance reviews, and training.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-first culture across teams.
- Identify skill gaps and implement staff development plans.
- To maintain full compliance with local and international regulatory standards and ensure high-quality practices throughout operations
- To manage operational budgets, optimise resource use, and ensure financial accountability.
Qualifications
- Master degree or pHD in a related scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated understanding of radiopharmaceutical research and development, including regulatory, quality, and safety considerations.
- Proven ability to support or lead multidisciplinary research initiatives, ideally in the development of novel radiopharmaceuticals.
- Experience in translating research into preclinical or clinical development pathways.
