Operations Manager, Performance and Business Planning, National Joint Registry

Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) is a small, dynamic organization that commissions and manages the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme on behalf of NHS England. HQIP also hosts the National Joint Registry (NJR), which is managed as a separate entity.

The NJR collects data on joint replacement surgery to monitor patient safety, improve outcomes, and ensure cost-effectiveness. It is one of the largest arthroplasty registers globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day management of the NJR’s implant outlier management program, including liaising with stakeholders and managing escalation processes.
• Management of the NJR’s data quality workstream and hospital escalation processes.
• Support for the Implant Scrutiny and Data Quality Committees, including organizing meetings, taking minutes, and managing actions.
• Support for additional projects, such as data quality management workstreams and working groups.
• Review, improve, and implement systems for the NJR’s business planning function.

Key Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject.
• Significant experience in the NHS or allied bodies.
• Experience in developing and implementing standard operating procedures.
• Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Track record in project and program management.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.

The NJR focuses on areas such as patient safety, surgeon and implant performance, data access, research, data quality, international collaboration, service development, and stakeholder communications.
