CASBR is a medium throughput collaborative center that facilitates a variety of research projects by preparing samples for MALDI-MSI analysis. Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) is a novel technique that combines spatial information with mass spectra, generating powerful insights into cancer biology, neurodegenerative disease, and developmental biology among other key research questions. This position will play a key role in facilitating sample preparation, instrumental analysis, and data processing. The successful candidate will contribute to high quality, reproducible research through rigorous scientific practices and persistent, creative problem-solving while working cooperatively with CASBR's technicians and collaborators.

• Support CASBR Center research functions, including sample preparation, instrumental analysis, data analysis, and presentation of results
• Section tissues using a cryostat
• Prepare samples via enzyme digestion and/or matrix application using HTX sprayer systems
• operate Bruker TimsTOFflex instruments by loading samples and monitoring runs
• Perform basic data analysis using Bruker software SciLS and prepare clear, easy‑to‑understand data packets for collaborators using Metaboscape
• Assist with method optimization, troubleshooting, and problem solving
• Participate in quality control procedures and reagent preparation to ensure accurate and reproducible results
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety compliant laboratory environment
