Our Museum Visitor Representatives are at the forefront of creating welcoming, engaging experiences for Museum visitors. As one of the first points of contact for guests, Museum Visitor Representatives help set the tone for each visitor's experience and serve as ambassadors for the Museum and its collections.
Visitor Service Representatives are an important part of the Museum's front-line visitor experience. They welcome and assist visitors, sell exhibition tickets, answer the multi-line telephone system, and provide support in the Museum Store. They serve as knowledgeable ambassadors of the Museum and help foster a positive and welcoming environment for all visitors.
Essential duties include:
- Greeting and assisting Museum visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Selling tickets and assisting with admissions.
- Assisting customers in the Museum Store.
- Answering and directing calls through the Museum's multi-line phone system.
- Providing information and directions to visitors.
- Handling cash and point-of-sale transactions.
- Maintaining a welcoming and positive environment for Museum visitors.
- Performing other visitor service duties as needed.
This is a part-time, time-limited OPS position with a minimum one-year commitment preferred. 15-20 hours per week shifts are Monday-Saturday 9:00am-5:30pm and Sunday 10:00am-5:30 p.m., Weekend and Weekday availability are required. Training is anticipated to begin in late October 2026.
Expected Salary: $17.00 per hour
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and interact positively with a diverse range of visitors.
- Positive and welcoming attitude.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Cash-handling experience.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Strong Interest in or knowledge of the natural world.
