Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati (UC) Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Orthopaedic Oncology Surgeon to join our dynamic and collaborative team at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor; salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience. This position offers the opportunity to advance the field of musculoskeletal oncology through clinical excellence, innovative research, and education of the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons.

Essential Functions

Provide expert clinical and surgical care in orthopaedic oncology, managing benign and malignant bone tumors, soft tissue sarcomas, and metastatic skeletal diseases across varied patient populations.
Develop a comprehensive Musculoskeletal Oncology Program and Division within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC.
Teach and mentor medical students and residents through formal didactics, operative instruction, and clinical supervision in musculoskeletal oncology.
Engage in scholarly activity in orthopaedic oncology, including clinical outcomes research, quality improvement, and/or translational research, with contributions to publications, presentations, and potential grant or clinical trial funding.
Contribute to multidisciplinary cancer care and program development, participating in tumor boards and collaborating with various oncology disciplines to support departmental and system-wide musculoskeletal oncology initiatives.
Assist in the management of urgent tumor-related orthopaedic conditions as required.

Minimum Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or foreign equivalent
Active and unrestricted Ohio State Medical License
Completion of a 5-year ACGME-accredited (or equivalent) Orthopaedic Surgery residency
Completion of a 1-year Orthopaedic Oncology/Musculoskeletal Fellowship

Additional Qualifications Considered

Board eligibility/board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery.
