The Oxford Department of International Development seeks to appoint a Programme Coordinator who will be working within the University’s Oxford Sanctuary Community (OSC) which is a cohort wide programme that exists to provide support to individuals at the University who have lived experience of displacement, including those identifying as refugees, asylum-seekers, internally displaced persons, and stateless persons.

The Programme Coordinator will play a key role in continuing to deliver a cohort programme for current OSC students and support with access and recruitment for subsequent cohorts. The postholder will be based within the Refugee Studies Centre (RSC) in the Department of International Development, line managed by the RSC Centre Manager and working closely with the Pro-Vice Chancellor for External Engagement. In the role they will also work closely with the Refugee led Research Hub (RLRH), Colleagues across Student Support offices and the University’s Student Fees and Funding Team (SFF); supporting a wider group of organisations in the University and across Oxfordshire that advance the work of Oxford as a University of Sanctuary. In addition to playing this overarching role for all students, staff, and researchers affected by displacement, the post-holder will serve as the dedicated scholarship programme coordinator for the University’s Refugee Academic Futures Scholars Programme.

The position is offered full time and fix term until 30 June 2028.

The successful candidate will hold an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant social sciences or humanities subject. They will also have proven relevant experience in managing projects. Understanding of, and sensitivity to, the specific challenges faced by refugees and scholars with forced displacement backgrounds in higher education are essential for this role.
