Position Announcement
Working within the College of Business, provides administrative support for the Accounting, Finance, and Analytics Marketing, Hotel & Resort Management, and Management programs and serves as an office manager. Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the department chairs, faculty, staff, clubs, students enrolled in their various programs.
- Assist in greeting general public, answering phones, receiving messages, distribute department mail, directing students/visitors to proper areas/offices on campus, and assisting in planning and holding events and meetings.
- Prepare and track purchase requisitions, travel authorizations, and other University forms and processes as needed.
- Assist Department Chairs in record management and bookkeeping; assist with budget requests, scheduling, and assist faculty with administrative needs as requested.
- Maintain proficiency in use of school database systems, such as Banner, EMS, Canvas, etc.
- Maintain and oversee inventories of equipment and supplies for departments.
- Set up, organize, record, and distribute minutes from department meetings. Assist with College of Business events as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Department Chairs and/or Dean and/or Administrative Specialist
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/equivalent GED plus some college coursework required. Associate's degree (or higher) preferred.
- Two years of related office experience required; experience working in a higher education environment preferred.
- Knowledge of various business programs, policies, and/or degree requirements preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and correspondence forms. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of computer software systems, particularly Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), with excellent typing skills. Ability and desire to learn and adapt to new computer systems preferred.
- Knowledge of general office practices, office equipment, procedures, and math skills.
- Demonstrated experience working with the general public and internal constituents relating to customer service, telephone etiquette, etc.
- Ability to concentrate on detailed projects during numerous interruptions by telephone or from walk-in inquirers.
- Ability to exercise important human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective and positive working relations with the University community and the public at large.
Supplemental Information
POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Part-time hourly staff position (up to 29 hours per week) during the school year. Summer hours may vary. Hourly rate of $15.00-$17.00/hr, depending on experience.
