Campus: Plainfield General Description: Paramedic Instructor responsibilities shall be teaching course segments as assigned by Dean of Plainfield Campus and Allied Sciences and/or the Paramedic Program Director. Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities: Teaches assigned course material/skill labs in accordance with the approved course outline and schedule, with incorporation of alternative approaches, technologies and methods when possible. Coordinate supervision and provide frequent assessments of the students' progress in achieving acceptable program requirements. Attends class sessions as scheduled. Advises Program Director of absences in a timely manner. Cooperates with the Dean and/or Program Director in developing and revising courses of study and curricula when asked. Cooperates with the Dean and/or Program Director in recruitment and advisement of students. Incorporates an appreciation of diverse lifestyles, cultures and national perspectives into courses. Attends scheduled program staff meetings. Represents the College and Program appropriately to the community. Plans in advance to ensure availability of classroom equipment requisite to successful teaching of assigned tasks Adheres to professional standards of procedures. Adheres to College policies and procedures. Education Requirements: Current Paramedic Certification or licenses as needed and appropriate and outlined by the NJ State Department of Health. Minimum of High School degree or equivalent required. Experience: Demonstrated mastery of subject matter of discipline. Teaching experience preferred.
