Parking Specialist PT (MON-FRI)

Job Summary:
This position in Parking and Transit Services is a public-facing contact for customer service.
This position is responsible for field operation duties, which includes enforcing university parking rules and regulations; providing information about parking rules and regulations; providing direction regarding campus geography and event locations; and managing parking lots and structures, including securing, reserving, and delineating areas of construction or event parking, and monitoring and communicating the physical condition of lots, structures, and equipment.
This position assists in field operations by issuing citations to vehicles parked in violation of university rules and regulations by using handheld devices and mobile printers, operating vehicles equipped with license plate recognition cameras, software and computer equipment, and field communication equipment for office verification of vehicle status; by providing relevant information to permit holders and visitors in the field regarding permits, rules, regulations, and parking locations; by managing parking lots and structures, using various field equipment, including barriers, cones, pylons, caution tape, and wind signs with proper signage to mark areas of construction or reservation for event activity; by monitoring, reporting, and assisting in permanent informational and directional sign upkeep; and by monitoring, reporting, and assisting in maintaining the appearance of lots by painting of stripes to demarcate parking and non-parking areas and reporting areas in need of repair.
Skills necessary to perform this job include literacy, computer experience, customer service skills, mechanical aptitude, and conflict resolution skills.
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year experience in customer service, databases, computer programs, and devices.
Valid driver’s license.
