Part-time and Limited Term Faculty Positions in School of Communication and Media
Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the School of Communication and Media for the academic year 2025-2026. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Teaching undergraduate courses to support our lower-division and upper-division courses in the broad fields of Journalism & Emerging Media, Media & Entertainment, Organizational & Professional Communication, and Public Relations
- Common courses for part-time faculty include Human Communication; Public Speaking; Writing for Public Communication; Communication Law, Ethics, and Diversity; and Digital Media Production
- Part-time faculty may be asked to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) and courses may be assigned at the Kennesaw or Marietta campus.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Communication, Journalism, Mass Communication, or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
OR
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous college-level teaching experience
- Relevant professional experience
- Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
