Part - Time Assistant, Campus Recreation - FY 2026

The Recreation Assistant provides exceptional customer service and supports the daily operations, programs, and events of the Athletics & Campus Recreation Department. This role combines front-line customer interaction with facility upkeep, event support, and marketing duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service to participants, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Enforce all Campus Recreation policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of facilities, equipment, and operational areas.
- Manage equipment check-out, day-use locker operations, and perform light janitorial work.
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and assist with accident and/or emergency situations.
- Conduct facility tours for prospective members.
- Support program marketing efforts, including creating promotional materials in Canva.
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of various activities and events.
- Help organize and execute recreation programs, group activities, special entertainment, and holiday events.
- Post engaging content on Instagram to promote programs and services.
- Accurately enter membership information into Excel spreadsheets and create reports using Paw Pass.
- Assist in preparing and posting a monthly calendar of events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills; able to interact with individuals from diverse social and economic backgrounds.
- Knowledge of the philosophy, purpose, and importance of Athletics & Campus Recreation.
- Marketing skills required; sales experience is a plus.
- Creativity and ability to plan engaging events and promotions.
- Basic proficiency with Canva, Excel, and social media platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current CPR, AED and First Aid certification.
- Prior customer service experience.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs or more.
- Ability to demonstrate good communication and customer service skills (i.e. working with the public).
- Must be computer literate and have prior experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Salary Information
$12.00 Hourly
Tentative Schedule
Monday - Thursday 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM | Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Part-time hourly position, typically less than twenty (20) hours per week. This position does not include benefits.
