Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network connectivity
problems on campus.
Configure equipment, inventory assets and peripherals, and
maintain basic records of job activities.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of labs, office, and
workbenches, which may include cleaning, vacuuming, and recycling
boxes and packaging materials.
Set up and image devices for bench stock and/or support
engineers, including assisting with transporting, installing,
securing, and cable management of devices in classrooms, labs,
and/or staff offices.
Perform bench stock inventory and reporting of all
technological and non-technical equipment.
Assist with asset handling for surplus, salvage, moves, etc.,
under the supervision of OTS staff as needed.
Assist support engineers with customer-facing situations,
including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues for
faculty, staff, and students in lab and classroom environments
(on-site training provided).
Answer questions and direct students, faculty, and staff to
appropriate resources when inquiries are made in person or by
phone.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be dependable, punctual, and self-motivated, and able to
work with minimal supervision.
- Must demonstrate strong customer service skills (in-person
and/or remote), including a positive and professional
attitude.
- Knowledge of computers, office applications, and internet usage
(additional training will be provided).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel,
Outlook, etc.), along with strong writing skills.
- Familiarity with calendar scheduling, internet searching, and
document creation/editing.
- Ability to physically transport and maintain equipment,
including work under desks.
- Ability to lift and transport 25-50+ lbs. repeatedly throughout
the day.
- Must maintain academic standing as required for continued
employment.
REQUIRED COURSES + CERTS:
- Successfully completed IS101 with a grade of C or better (or
equivalent coursework; verifiable transcript required).
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Word: Associate Level
(verifiable certification required).
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Excel: Associate Level
(verifiable certification required).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- IT-related certifications such as MTA, CompTIA (A+, Network+,
Cloud+, Security+), ACMT, HDI, or equivalent.
- Currently pursuing an IT-related field of study or career
path.
- Letter of reference from faculty.
SALARY:
$13.20/per hour
