Job SummaryThis is a part-time position providing quality patient care to patients of the IU School of Optometry.
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Works independently, using advanced professional knowledge and specialized equipment.
- Participates in testing patients using imaging equipment for both clinical care and student instruction.
- Transmits image data to image technology database and corrects any errors.
- Trains and supervises optometry students in patient care and administrative policies.
- Responsible for scheduling referrals for outside appointments including faxing, emailing and/or mailing exam records and referral reports.
- Works directly with faculty in support of providing excellent patient care for all clinics.
- Ensures compliance by collecting and maintaining federally required documentation.
- Triages patient concerns.
EDUCATION
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
- 1 year of optometric technician experience
