Position Description

Perimeter College is seeking part-time instructors in ENGLISH who will play a key role in educating and supporting students. The English Department also staffs college English classes for Dual Enrollment students in metro-Atlanta high schools, and occasionally staffs online courses for instructors experienced in online teaching.

Required Education

To qualify to teach ENGLISH, applicants MUST have: A minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Teaching experience is preferred. Online teaching experience is preferred if seeking online appointment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to teach ENGLISH courses on the collegiate level
• Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods
• Ability to relate to a diverse student population and facilitate student learning
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology

Work Hours

Position may require non-standard hours. Classes at Perimeter College are offered morning, afternoon and evening including weekends.

Salary

$3075 for each 3 credit hour course taught
