Part-time Equipment and Apparel Assistant

Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Part-time Equipment and Apparel Assistant. The Part-Time Equipment and Apparel Assistant supports the daily operations of the athletic equipment and apparel unit for University of North Georgia Athletics. This position assists with inventory management, apparel distribution, laundry operations, event preparation, and maintaining organization within athletic equipment facilities. The role requires strong attention to detail, customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced collegiate athletics environment. Physical activity required, including lifting, transporting, and fitting athletic equipment. Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout athletic facilities. Must be able to work in varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with issuing, collecting, and tracking athletic apparel and equipment for assigned sports programs.
  • Support inventory control procedures including tagging, organizing, stocking, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Help coordinate apparel orders, deliveries, and vendor shipments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment rooms, storage areas, and laundry facilities.
  • Follow departmental, institutional, conference, and NCAA policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations as they pertain to athletic equipment and apparel.
  • Proficiency in equipment inventory software and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple sports teams and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with coaches, athletes, vendors, and staff.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel for team events as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CPR / First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with equipment and apparel inventory management systems preferred.
