Job Summary
The School of Sciences at Clayton State University is seeking applicants for Part-Time Instructors to teach one or more undergraduate courses in Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, or related areas to begin in August 2026. There may be opportunities for online instruction for qualified candidates.
Each position is a semester-long appointment with the possibility of being offered an appointment in future semesters. Compensation varies based on experience and qualification.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach courses or labs in area of expertise. Current need is in Introductory Biology (non-majors), Human Anatomy and Physiology, Human Genetics (non-majors), Health and Disease (non-majors), or other related courses. Responsibilities include syllabus preparation, course preparation, instruction, grading, and assessment of students, holding office hours, adhering to academic calendar, and other duties associated with teaching the course or lab. Successful candidates may be required to teach classes that meet during non-standard (early morning, evening) work hours and/or at the Henry County or Fayette/Peachtree City instructional sites.
Required Qualifications
- Earned Masters or Doctorate degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Biology or closely related field.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Teach courses and labs in biology.
- Use online course management systems.
- Adhere to deadlines.
- Work independently.
- Communicate with students in a timely manner.
