Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

Job Description
The Department of Film and Media Arts within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach CAR 102, The Art and Craft of Animation, a three-credit hour course, during the Fall 2025 semester.
This introductory studio course explores animation history and practice, with a strong emphasis on practice. Students will learn important animation techniques and modalities and build a foundation for further coursework or personal exploration of animation.

Qualifications
- BFA required
- MFA preferred
- College teaching experience required
Job Specific Qualifications
- Understand a wide variety of animation modalities, production methodologies, and workflows
Responsibilities
Teach a weekly course mostly to new animation minors.
In addition:
- Develop and/or update a class syllabus.
- Prepare lectures, projects, or other student assignments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
- Present instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
- Meet all designated class periods. If you are unable to meet your class due to illness or emergency, you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute. You must also notify the department chair of your absence and your plan to cover the class.
- Submit completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
- Build a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
