Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare materials needed for instruction, labs, and supplies;
- Provide basic lab maintenance and track inventory of equipment and tools utilized;
- Relate instruction and material to course objectives;
- Discuss and demonstrate workplace safety, personal/patient safety and infection control;
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with students, other faculty and staff;
- Submit grades, attendance, reports and records in a timely manner;
- Evaluate student performance in classroom, skills lab and clinical environments
- Experience teaching in online and face2face formats
- Prepare students to sit for the Nursing Assistant Certification through the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON).
Required Qualifications
- Maryland Registered Nurse (BSN preferred)
- 2 years Nursing Experience
- 1 year caring for the elderly/chronically ill within the past 5 years (long-term care experience)
- 2 years teaching experience or must complete the Principles of Adult Education (“Train the Trainer”) course (minimum of 16 hours)
- Prior experience teaching CNA (preferred)
- Registered Nurse with supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred.
