Department Summary:
The Department of Computer Science is a mid-sized, cordial, collaborative, and innovative group of 8 full-time faculty members. The Department prepares students for exciting careers and graduate school through high quality instruction in small classes and close collaboration between faculty members and students on projects. The goal of the Department is to provide students with a strong foundation in computer science, one that also promotes critical thinking and lifetime learning.
The Department is located in the Dana Mohler-Faria Science and Mathematics Center where faculty and staff work with students in labs equipped with modern equipment and technology. The Bachelors of Science in Computer Science at Bridgewater State is ABET accredited. The Department also offers a MS degree in Computer Science.

Essential Duties:
The Department of Computer Science at Bridgewater State University seeks qualified and committed Part Time Faculty for Fall 2025, who are enthusiastic teachers and dedicated to working with undergraduates.
Courses include one or more sections of freshman and sophomore level computer science: computer science I (python), computer science II (Java) and computer science III (data structures and algorithm with Java). Courses may additionally or alternatively include upper-level courses, particularly software engineering or cybersecurity, depending on the interests and background of the candidate.

Required Qualifications:
MS in Computer Science or closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Software industry experience or teaching experience at the university level.

This posting is for potential part-time, non-benefited, day program faculty positions in the Computer Science Department. The current salary rate for a typical 3 credit lecture course taught by a new part-time faculty member in the day program is $4,005.00, paid through bi-weekly payroll direct deposit. Rates may vary for other course types based on contact hour equivalencies.
