Part-Time Faculty - Emergency Medical Care
Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Department of Justice, Safety, & Military Science at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a part-time faculty position to teach courses in Emergency Medical Care.
Must be a state licensed or NREMT certified paramedic.
Must be endorsed by KBEMS as a paramedic able to teach all levels of EMS courses.
To be considered to teach undergraduate level courses, applicants should hold an earned doctoral/terminal (for EMC masters is terminal) OR masters in teaching discipline or related field OR master's degree with a concentration in teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
Part-time faculty may teach up to nine credit hours, depending on departmental needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must hold doctoral/terminal (for EMC masters is terminal)
- OR masters in teaching discipline or related field
- OR master's degree with a concentration in teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline)
- Paramedic with EMS educator experience. Preference for KBEMS credentialed EMS Level 2 or 3 Educator.
Job Duties
- Plan and develop EMS licensure class lesson plans - (Essential)
- Deliver all content based upon the National Education Standards for EMS - (Essential)
- Evaluate the competency of students from an affective, cognitive and psychomotor perspective. - (Essential)
