Description

Monterey Peninsula College is currently accepting applications to establish a pool for future part-time teaching assignments in this discipline. Instructors may be assigned to the Monterey campus and/or Marina Education Center.

Teaching assignments may vary for horticulture courses, which may include:

  • Introduction to Horticulture
  • Soil Science and Management
  • Plant Identification
  • Plant Propagation
  • Native Plants
  • Landscape Design
  • Irrigation Design and Water Economy (for preparation for Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper certification)

Example of Duties

Under the supervision of the area Dean and the guidance of the Department, the adjunct instructor will provide instruction... Instructor may be assigned to the Monterey campus and/or Marina Education Center.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet each scheduled class...
  • Teach in an open enrollment individualized self-paced lab setting...

Qualifications

  • Any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience OR
  • Any associate degree and six years of professional experience OR
  • The equivalent. (Equivalency Forms must be submitted for consideration)
  • AND a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
