Objective
To perform the day-to-day operations of instructional programs on the assigned campus.
Essential Duties
- Provide instruction for courses at a variety of times and locations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence.
- Maintain access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
- Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution.
- Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources.
- Advise students in academic matters.
- Evaluate student performance through a variety of means to measure progress while informing students in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
- Provide recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Program Coordinator, and Curriculum Resource Team regarding curriculum.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community.
- Provide information requested of all faculty.
- Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments.
- Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities.
- Possess a passion for teaching community college students.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and orally.
- Attend college orientation and required institutional meetings.
- Responsible for other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree with academic credentials from a regionally accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer or Software Engineering, or Computer-based Information Systems (e.g., management, decision, data-processing), Cyber/Network Security, Cloud Computing or other closely related field
Preferred Experience and Training
Online teaching experience.
College teaching experience.
Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in these disciplines.
Three or more years of full-time industry experience in an information technology related field; OR three or more years of collaborative experience with business and industry.
Professional certification, such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, or CCNP (Security), AWS, Cisco, Microsoft, RedHat, CompTIA

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, bend, push and pull.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Required Degree, License or Certifications
As required by THECB and SACSCOC specifications for faculty of academic transfer courses in the discipline.
