Part-time Faculty, Mathematics - Steubenville

Teach by semester for entry-level mathematics and statistics courses, including, but not limited to, undergraduate-level general education statistics, college algebra, quantitative reasoning, or trigonometry. Develop and deliver face-to-face instruction in mathematics and statistics.

Work Schedule:Typically, Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments at the Steubenville, Ohio location.

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Qualifications and Competencies

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures:Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Minimum Qualifications:At least an earned master's degree in mathematics or earned bachelor's degree in mathematics and graduate degree in a related field; must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications:Prior college-level teaching experience or appropriate K-12 teaching certification. Proficiency with instructional tools and technology. Experience teaching online courses or experience with WebAssign, MyLabsPlus/MyMathLab and/or Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces (ALEKS).

Physical Requirements:In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.

Sedentary:work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other Sedentary criteria aremet.
