Position Title: Part-Time Faculty, Physics

Department/School: School of Science

Salary/Pay Rate: $1,270 per 1 credit with upward adjustment for years of service at Marist University. Pay may vary depending on credits pertaining to online, graduate, music, or lab courses.

Job Summary: The School of Science invites applications for various Part-Time Faculty positions for the 2026-2027 academic year. Additionally, the instructor will maintain a strong online presence through the learning management system (Brightspace) by posting lab announcements, grading online assignments, and updating the online gradebook in a timely manner. While this position is for Fall 2026, we may have additional teaching opportunities in lecture or lab instruction for College Physics or General Physics I/II in future semesters. This position would be ideal for those looking to expand their teaching portfolio and potentially continue with additional instructional roles in the department.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Physics or closely related field required.

Essential Functions: Teach in-person General Physics Laboratory courses, including conducting labs and explaining physics concepts to students. Grade laboratory reports and related coursework, providing timely feedback. Maintain an active Brightspace presence including posting announcements, grading online submissions, and updating the gradebook. Communicate effectively with students in both written and verbal form.
