Job Summary- Performs building inspections to ensure compliance with all state of Indiana adopted fire, building codes, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
- Resolves code issues during construction phase, and maintenance issues.
- Performs monthly inspections on fire extinguishers, sprinkler control valves, fire alarm panels, and kitchen hood systems.
- Conducts fire pump testing, fire system acceptance testing, and real estate building inspections.
- Works special events, including football and basketball games.
QualificationsEDUCATION
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
- Experience with building code inspection, enforcement, and/or fire safety

Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
This role may be required to occasionally travel to other campuses to provide additional support for investigation efforts.
Some events may occur outside of normal working hours including evenings and weekends.
