About the Department

The Social Sciences Department at Perimeter College is a dynamic, multidisciplinary community dedicated to bringing learning to life. The department’s 64 full-time faculty are committed to engaging students in an access, 2-year environment in meaningful discussions, hands-on learning, and real-world applications of social science concepts. The department offers courses in a wide range of fields, including History, Political Science, African-American Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Education, Social Work, Gerontology, Anthropology, Homeland Security & Emergency Management, and Women’s, Gender, & Sexuality Studies.

Position Description

Perimeter College is seeking part-time instructors in HUMAN GEOGRAPHY who will play a key role in educating and supporting students.

Required Education

To qualify to teach HUMAN GEOGRAPHY, applicants MUST have: A minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Teaching experience preferred.

• Ability to teach HUMAN GEOGRAPHY courses on the collegiate level
• Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods
• Ability to relate to a diverse student population and facilitate student learning
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology

Work Hours

Classes at Perimeter College are offered morning, afternoon and evening including weekends.

Salary

$3075.00 for each 3-semester credit hour course taught
