Part - Time Instructor, American Sign Language (ASL) - FY 2027

Job Description

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching college-level courses in the field of American Sign Language and Deafness.

Develop syllabi and course materials.

Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.

Provide an excellent teaching experience as well as student advisement, recruitment activities and program/curriculum development.

Courses taught at multiple campuses in Clark County.

Be available to teach day, evening and/or weekend courses.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BA from a regionally accredited college or university. Bachelor's Degree (Preferably in Deafness related field) from a regionally accredited College or University.
Documented and demonstrated American Sign Language competencies at an advanced level.
Experience teaching in ASL.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree.
Experience working with interactive language laboratories.
ASLTA certification (American Sign Language Teachers Association).
RID Certification (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf).

SALARY:

$925.00 per credit for lecture per semester. Courses/Credits assigned may vary by semester.

Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.
