Part Time Junior Research Scientist (PI: Dr.Anna Di Gregorio)
The Di Gregorio Lab in the Department of Molecular Pathobiology at New York University College of Dentistry (New York, NY) seeks a part-time Junior Research Scientist who will investigate notochord development in the tunicate Ciona. The qualified candidate will assist with the identification of candidate regulatory DNA regions, cloning, and in vivo testing of their regulatory ability in transgenic embryos. This position requires excellent communication and teamwork skills, high quality recordkeeping, and the ability to collect and analyze data. The successful individual will earn opportunities to disseminate research with authorship credit, will contribute to general lab operation and assist with training new lab members.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $20.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
We seek a highly motivated researcher who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related fields.
Strong laboratory and analytical skills, ability to follow experimental protocols, effective written and oral communication, and efficient time management are essential. Experience with cloning, PCR, bacterial transformation, plasmid DNA purification, fundamental molecular biology methods, transgenic embryos generation and microscopy are highly preferred.
