The Gender Studies Programme at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is the first programme on gender studies in the tertiary education sector in Hong Kong. It is an interdisciplinary unit based in the Faculty of Social Science, offering Bachelor, MA, MPhil and PhD programmes. The forward-looking team of Gender Studies Programme is inviting applications for the post of Part-time Lecturer to supervise thesis writing at the undergraduate and taught postgraduate levels in the academic year 2026-27.
The appointee is expected to
(a) supervise students' quantitative and qualitative research at the undergraduate and taught postgraduate levels;
(b) meet regularly with the supervisees to ensure their progress;
(c) provide appropriate feedback and guidance to the supervisees; and
(d) work closely with and take instructions from the course coordinator.
Applicants should possess:
(i) a PhD degree and relevant research experience in Social Science;
(ii) the ability to use English and Chinese as media of instruction; and
(iii) a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to high-quality teaching.
Those with prior research experience in gender and sexuality, quantitative and qualitative methods, and teaching experience in tertiary institutions are preferred. There is no specific requirement for applicants' subject discipline, but applicants should be prepared to supervise undergraduate theses in social science disciplines.
