Part-time Lecturer
EDU 8823EEF Applied Linguistics and English Language
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- planning and teaching a full-time course related to applied linguistics methods for postgraduate students;
- completing related duties including preparing teaching notes, assisting in the development of teaching and learning activities and marking assignments;
- providing consultation to students; and
- performing other duties related to the development and delivery of the course.
The appointees shall be required to teach a maximum of 2 hours per week on Saturdays on campus in the face-to-face mode between September 2026 and May 2027.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A recognized Master’s degree / higher degree, which included the study of linguistics/language plus experience in teaching English; and
- Applicants must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in tertiary education and a PhD in related discipline.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidateswill be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
