Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the course planning, development and delivery of the full-time face-to-face undergraduate programmes. Major duties include conducting lectures and tutorials, writing lecture notes, designing and marking of assignments/examination scripts and performing other related teaching and administrative duties. Requirements for the relevant course(s) are specified as follows:

• BSCI A223F Healthcare and Society
• Applicants should possess a higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate, in Sociology, Public Health, or a related discipline. They should have teaching or professional experience, and relevant teaching experience at the tertiary level would be an advantage.

• CHIN 1002ACF /CHIN A278CF 中國文化導論

申請者須持有碩士或以上學位，主修中國語言及文學、中國歷史或相關學科。具相關教學經驗者可獲優先考慮。

• CHIN 3002ACF 歷代文選

• A recognized Master’s degree/ higher degree, which included the study of English language and literature plus experience in teaching relevant English literature or English writing courses. Preference will be given to candidates with rich teaching experience in tertiary education and a PhD in related discipline.

• LANG 2133AEF Introduction to Sociolinguistics

A recognized higher degree in Linguistics, Sociolinguistics or Applied linguistics or a related discipline; and relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

• TRAN 2262ACF/ TRAN A262CF Language Studies for Translation

A recognized higher degree in Translation, Language, Linguistics, or a related discipline; and relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

• TRAN 3603ABF Translation Technology

• A recognized higher degree in Translation, Language, Linguistics, or a related discipline; and relevant teaching experience at tertiary level and practical skills in translation technology would be an advantage.

Duration of Appointment

The appointee will be required to work during daytime on campus for the period from September 2026 to January 2027 for a maximum of 16.5 hours per week.

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract.  Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
