Terms of Employment
(1) Primary workplace will be the Waseda campus of Waseda University.
(2) Days on which classes are held will be considered workdays. Class schedule will be determined by the School of Law.
(3) Days off are as stipulated by university regulations.

Additional notes regarding period of appointment:
For those teaching in the Spring semester only, the period of appointment will be 2027 April 1 – 2027 September 20. For those teaching in the Fall semester only, the period of appointment will be 2027 September 21 – 2028 March 31.
Upon completion, contracts may be renewed for up to one year based on the following considerations:
(1) Anticipated number of course offerings and student registration for the subsequent academic year or semester.
(2) Performance evaluation
(3) Aptitude and suitability
However, no instructor may be employed continuously for more than ten years. No contract may be renewed beyond the academic year in which the instructor reaches the age of 70.
For anyone who has ever been employed by Waseda University after 2013 April 1 and has not had a period of at least a half year not in employment by the university, the length of continuous employment may be capped. Hence, not all terms regarding period of appointment, and contract renewal and duration, as noted may apply.
