Position Overview
The Part-Time Lifeguard maintains the pool and related facilities. This individual will rescue swimmers in distress, apply resuscitation, and administer emergency care when needed.
What you will be doing
- Cleans and brushes the main pool and diving pool, and hoses down the pool deck
- Maintains pool equipment; assists in other routine activities relating to pool operations, such as summer camps, college activities, etc.
- Maintains order and discipline among swimmers and other persons at the Aquatic Center
- Assists pool manager and head lifeguard in carrying out pool procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Valid Lifeguard Certification
- Valid C.P.R. for the professional rescuer from American Red Cross
- Valid First Aid Certification
- Must be able to pass a swimming performance test
- Ability to read and understand pool operations manual
- Must have effective communication skill and the ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Must be able to interact effectively with a diverse population
- Must be able to work nights, evenings, weekends, holidays and flexible schedules
Additional Requirements
The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
