Part-time Medical Assisting Professor – Continuous Pool

Clark College is currently seeking to fill a part-time Medical Assisting Professor.
This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Applicants must be available to teach the daytime, evening or weekend hours. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.
This is a part-time faculty position and is not eligible for employee-sponsored benefits.

GENERAL FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instruct classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
- Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in department and college committees.
- Pursue professional development.
- Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques.
- Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
- Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Associate of Science degree in Medical Assisting or a related healthcare field,
- Active National Certification in one of the following:
- Certified Medical Assistant certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant certification through the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Clinical Medical Assistant certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- National Certified Medical Assistant certification through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Clinical Medical Assistant certification through the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
- Three (3) years work experience as a medical assistant, or a related healthcare field.
- Teaching experience.
- Ability to work well as a member of a team.
- Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
