SUMMARY
This is a part-time Medical Director position for the Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography Department.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include working days, evenings and/or weekends. May require travel to our main campus in Alvin and/or to various offsite locations. Requires the provision of official transcripts and/or certifications within (30) days of hire. Applicants with academic credentials from non-U.S. accredited institutions are required to have their coursework evaluated in terms of U.S. "equivalency." All international credential evaluations must be conducted by one of the companies affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES®) in order to be considered for a faculty position. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Participate in program planning and evaluation of instruction for all aspects of cardiovascular sonography in cooperation and collaboration with the Program Director and Director of Clinical Education.
- Participate in teaching of students.
- Assure that the students receive adequate physician contact.
- Evaluate and instruct program faculty.
- Serve as the liaison physician between the program and other medical professionals.
- Guide, advise, and advance the program by providing active and timely medical direction.
- Participate in program accreditation activities every five (5) to ten (10) years.
- Serve as a member of the Advisory Committee and attend meetings.
- Provide guidance as to curriculum content and sequence.
- Assist to determine and update program goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Licensed physician.
EXPERIENCE
- Training and experience in cardiovascular diseases and therapy.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- An active interest in the education of qualified cardiovascular sonographers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee typically works in a classroom environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of a classroom. Employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
