Description

The Hampton University School of Pharmacy invites applications for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve in the position of Part Time Staff Pharmacist at HU Cares Pharmacy, an integrated healthcare model recently launched to meet the needs of our community.

Examples of Duties

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct dosage and patient information.
• Review and verify prescriptions for appropriateness and compliance.
• Provide patient counseling on medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to optimize patient treatment plans and outcomes.
• Participate in community health events such as immunization drives and wellness clinics.
• Provide exceptional service to patients at the pharmacy counter and over the phone.
• Support pharmacy technicians and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Mange pharmacy inventory and ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws, privacy standards, and company procedures.

Typical Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited institution.
• Immunization and current CPR certification are required.
• In good standing with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.
• Familiarity with pharmacy software and prescription processing.
• The successful candidate must be reliable, team-oriented, and committed to supporting healthcare access at Hampton University and the surrounding community.

Supplemental Information

• Must meet state pharmacist licensing or certification requirements.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, no more than 20 hours per week, including some evenings or weekends.
