Part-Time Quitman County Extension Administrative Assistant
Position Summary
This County Extension position (part-time – 16 hours/week) in Quitman County will be the primary contact with the public, greet clients, distribute resources, and handle clerical and QuickBooks financial management duties. This role is crucial to the management of the office and success in serving the citizens of the county. This role will be the “face” of UGA Extension to the residents in the county.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Proficient in typing, filing, and computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks.
- QuickBooks knowledge
Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintain appropriate records for fiscal reporting. May prepare various accounting forms and exercise basic accounting responsibility in reconciling local Extension budgets. Keep financial records current within the existing month. (20%)
- Assist clientele with access to Extension resources and services, including: printed publications, online content, other educational materials, and sample submission for all diagnostic services. Assist clientele in registering for regional or statewide workshops/conferences and training or testing associated with certification programs offered by Extension. (25%)
- Publicize programs and workshops offered in local county or nearby counties to clientele. Maintain the County website. Facilitate conference calls/video conferences to connect clientele with County Agents from other counties or with State Specialists. (20%)
- Maintain the office filing system in a manner that corresponds with the standard for all Extension offices and coordinate office tasks with other county staff as necessary. Maintaining and updating mailing list. Maintain 4-H volunteer record w/assistance of Co Agent. Maintain office inventory of publications, office supplies, and materials as needed. Assist County Extension Coordinator with personnel procedures. Conduct all duties in accordance with The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Equal Opportunity plan. Regularly participating in staff conferences and District Conferences. Other duties as assigned by the County Extension Coordinator. (35%)
