Job Description
This part time Research Assistant position will be responsible for the following:

• Collect, assemble and analyze data on small volcano shape and location to contribute to the MaarVLS catalog. This includes using satellite imagery, digital elevation models, and QGIS.
• Update and maintain the database and relevant references as managed in Excel and Google Earth.
• The researcher is expected to produce a report on the updates and new contributions.
• Professional development for the researcher including webinars, paper reading, CV workshops and job applications are included in and expected as part of the duties.
• The researcher will meet with their supervisor weekly for updates, but hours are flexible.

This position is a part-time (10 hours/week), non-benefit eligible, unranked academic position.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree related to Earth Science with experience in GIS (Geographic Information System).
Anticipated Hiring Range
$19/hr
