Part-Time Research Tech
Job Summary
- Cultures different mammalian cell types and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).
- Conducts cell-based assays and utilizes molecular biology kits.
- Performs experiments on difference cell culture lines, including:
- RNA Cell transfection.
- Biochemical and molecular assays, including viability assays, immunostaining, and gene/protein expression analysis.
- Maintains accurate lab records and participates in collaborative research discussions.
- Works closely with the lab manager and other staff.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, neuroscience, or any related biomedical field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- 6 months of experience in a biochemistry lab (preferably with exposure to mammalian cell cultures and protein assays).
SKILLS
Required
- Basic knowledge of sterile cell culture techniques.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion for investigating the cellular and molecular underpinnings of neurodegeneration.
Preferred
- Experience with Western blotting, ELISA, RT-PCR, immunocytochemistry, or molecular cloning.
- Some familiarity with iPSC differentiation and RNA/protein extraction techniques.
