This position performs a wide range of duties involved with preparing and/or serving foods and beverages in one or more of a variety of food service environments. May perform such duties as preparing salad items, hot foods, and/or cold foods, and/or assisting in the preparation of bakery items, as appropriate to the position. Assist in cleaning work areas, equipment, utensils. May assist in the setup, and service; collection of garbage/trash and mop floors; as appropriate to the area of operation. May serve food to customers and/or perform cashiering duties, as appropriate. All while adhering to food safety regulations.
Job Duties:
- Coffee Bar: Assist in the daily operations in the Coffee Bar, which will consist of stocking, cleaning and brewing of coffee and preparing a variety of drinks.
- Bistro/Kitchen: Cook, prep, stock, and maintain a clean, organized food line in the kitchen areas.
- Customer Service: Provide quality customer service to internal and external constituents. Will assist in the collection of money and making change for sales of food and drinks. As well as operate cash register and complete daily cash reports as needed.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Daily start up or shut down duties. Transport supplies to and from the cart area to the kitchen. Restocking of cart. Keep inventory of supplies. Collection of money and making change for sales of food and drinks. Maintain daily maintenance and cleaning. Perform other tasks as assigned. Assist in the daily operations in the Food Service area. Cook, prep, stock, and maintain a clean, organized food line in the kitchen areas. Responsible for restocking and cleaning of the storage areas listed on check lists. Assist with putting away weekly food/non-food orders and maintaining proper rotation of the inventories. Operate the cash register and complete daily cash reports as needed. Maintain daily maintenance and cleaning of the kitchen and prep area. Assist with the supervision and training of work study. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Positive and outgoing customer service skills. Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures. Dedication to doing excellent work and willingness to learn new skills and procedures. Must possess good math skills. A pre-employment post-offer physical evaluation will be required of the selected candidate. Must be willing to work flexible hours.
Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of related experience.
